This is a time for handlers to learn exercises and skills to help them train their dogs. 

Please arrive earlier to enable you to exercise and settle your dog before training commences.

Bring a lead, favourite retrieve item and water for your dog.

If you would like to come please reply with some details of you and your dog, what you are working on and what you would like to achieve, so that we can plan the day.

May include basic obedience, range, find & flush; land & water retrieves.

BBQ (sausage & roll) lunch or BYO

Directions

Take the next entrance on the right after the main Stonebridge entrance, follow the drive down to the farmyard.  Please park considerately so that farm vehicles and residents can access all areas. 

IMPORTANT

We are guests on the property.  Please close gates – if in doubt check with a committee member.  Be aware that fences may be electric.  There is livestock on the property so keep your dog under strict control at all times.  Keep dogs on leads unless completing a training exercise or in a designated exercise area.  Anyone found on this property at any other time without authorisation will automatically be excluded from the club.

Waikato Gundog Club are proud to announce that we will host the North Island Gundog Trial Championships this October at Karakariki Road, Whatawhata by kind permission of Graham Henderson.

Tahi Spinks will be Trials Captain and Christine Martin Trials Secretary.  Preparations are already under way and the schedule is out.  We have a full compliment of sponsors whose generosity has ensured that there will be some superb prizes up for grabs.

This is a very exciting prospect for the club and a big organisational challenge.  There are all sorts of routine errands and jobs to do leading up to and during the trials and we know that many of our members are keen to lend a hand.
